Digital prints on photographic paper, site-specific installation

Boys, So Confused is a soft sculptural installation composed of digitally printed images on photographic paper. Scattered across walls and floors, the prints are intentionally creased, curled, and collapsed—rendering the male bodies within fragile, awkward, and constrained. The images are sourced from queer dating apps, BDSM photography, and self-portrait snapshots, subtly engaging with themes of sexuality, shame, gaze, and media-based violence.

The work explores the idea of "non-authoritative representation": physically, the images refuse to stand upright; conceptually, the bodies appear folded, blurred, and depersonalized through layers of performance, desire, and digital mediation. By translating these visual languages into sculptural forms, the artist questions the supposed coherence of image and identity—unraveling the power structures, cultural codes, and mediated constructs embedded within gender and sexual representation.
